Samuel is a Licensed Master Social Worker. In addition to his counseling work at Kerith Brook Counseling he works with the State of CT Child Protective Services (CPS). Prior to becoming a CPS worker, Samuel Worked with a State Wide Family Advocacy Agency as family systems manager helping children and families dealing with mental health and behavioral challenges navigate and access needed community resources.
After completing his Master’s in Social Work at UCONN School of Social Work in 2010, he handled the Forensic Jail Diversion Program for Community Mental Health Affiliates (CMHA) and conducted group and individual sessions using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and the START NOW skills training program.
Samuel is a strong believer of biblical tradition and upholds values such as service to mankind, gratitude, compassion, humility, peace, endurance, hope, love, empathy and the worth and dignity of each unique individual.
He helps individuals identify and build on their innate creative capacity and uses cognitive reframing, mindfulness and concepts of CBT to help clients effectively manage societal stressors and life challenges.
